At Nugget Farm And Hatchery, LLC, we are committed to providing you with healthy, thriving poultry. We understand the importance of receiving live animals in good health and condition.

48-Hour Live Arrival Guarantee

We guarantee that all live chicks, pullets, and adult birds will arrive alive and in good health. Our guarantee covers:

Coverage Period

48 hours from the time of delivery or pickup
This extended period allows for adjustment stress and ensures proper assessment of health

What Is Covered

Live arrival (bird arrives alive)
Initial health assessment upon arrival
Stress-related issues occurring within 48 hours of arrival
Obvious illness or injury present at time of arrival

What Is NOT Covered

Issues arising after 48 hours from delivery
Injuries caused by improper handling after delivery
Illness contracted after arrival (biosecurity breach)
Predator attacks after delivery
Failure to thrive due to environmental factors (temperature extremes, etc.)

Requirements for Guarantee Claims

To make a claim under our live guarantee, you must:

1. Immediate Notification

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery

2. Documentation Required

Clear photos of the bird(s) in question
Photos showing any injuries or illness symptoms
Photos of the shipping container (if shipped)
Order number and shipping information

3. Cooperation

Follow any care instructions provided by our team
Allow us to work with you to resolve the issue
Provide necessary information for our records

Resolution Options

If a bird does not meet our live guarantee, we offer the following resolution options:

1. Replacement

We will replace the bird at our next available shipping date
Replacement shipping is at our expense
You may choose a different breed if available

2. Credit/Refund

Store credit for the full purchase price
Refund to original payment method (minus any shipping costs)
Credit can be used toward future purchases

Important Considerations

Stress and Adjustment

All birds experience some stress during transport. Normal signs of stress include:

Temporary reduction in appetite
Quiet behavior for first 24 hours
Adjustment to new environment

These are normal and not covered by the guarantee.

Proper Care Requirements

To ensure your birds thrive:

Provide clean, fresh water immediately
Offer appropriate feed
Maintain proper temperature (95°F for chicks)
Provide adequate space and ventilation
Follow all care instructions provided

Biosecurity

You must practice proper biosecurity:

Quarantine new birds for 30 days
Wash hands before and after handling
Keep equipment clean and disinfected
Prevent contact with wild birds

Shipping Considerations

Live Bird Shipping

When we ship live birds:

We use USDA-approved shipping methods
Birds are shipped with heat/cold packs as needed
We include care instructions with every shipment
We monitor weather conditions for safe shipping

For the best outcomes, we strongly recommend:

Local pickup from our Newberry, MI farm
Reduced stress on the birds
Immediate transfer to your care
No shipping delays or issues

Limitations and Exclusions

Our live guarantee has the following limitations:

Does not cover birds sold "as-is" or "bargain"
Does not cover breeding guarantees
Does not cover egg production guarantees
Does not cover meat quality guarantees
Limited to the purchase price of the bird(s)

Please be aware:

Some states have regulations on live poultry imports
Local ordinances may restrict poultry keeping
You are responsible for checking local regulations
We cannot ship to areas where poultry is prohibited
